Connecting when it counts.

Objective

Summit is Atlassian’s annual user conference—the most highly anticipated program in their portfolio. The event brings together partners, experts and customers from around the world to learn about new products, network with teammates and provide valuable feedback. For 2020, Atlassian opted to go virtual and entrusted us—their Summit partner since 2015—to stitch together and produce digital assets that would capture the spirit of the brand and deliver the high-quality programming for which Atlassian is known.

Solution

We planned to produce much of the content at pop-up studios in SF and Sydney, but with orders to shelter-in-place, we had to pivot quickly. To produce polished, branded and consistent digital assets and pre-recorded media, we prepped Atlassian’s team with virtual presentation kits, including comprehensive recording guidelines. We conducted remote rehearsals with all presenters to standardize presentation spaces, offer general presenter coaching and provide quality control for audio, lighting and tech issues.

With an emphasis on simplicity and consistency, we recorded, edited and synthesized all Zoom presentations, and designed an engaging audience journey featuring cohesive groupings of general sessions, breakouts and product demos. To simulate the seamless flow and professional look of a live event, we applied fluid transitions, lower thirds and video cuts to each segment. After the event, we edited program highlights to serve as year-round on-demand content.

Result

Hosted April 1-2, Atlassian Summit 2020 reached an astounding 29,600 registered participants worldwide, as opposed to 4,500 in-person attendees—proof that people want (and need) communication in times of crisis. The program included 55 speakers across 30 breakout sessions and two major keynote presentations, resulting in around 2400 minutes of content. Throughout the program, we positioned Atlassian as a leader during a critical time, demonstrating the company’s commitment to its customers, partners, employees and global community.
